DASH 2015 Charity Selection Criteria & Voting Information

DASH 2015 starts with the process of shortlisting to 5 charities (or charitable causes) that will be supported during the DASH project.

Every DASH team will choose one of these 5 selected charities to support during the course of the project (ending October 2015).

In 2015, a long list of Charities will be compiled by the process of online nomination.

Nominations will be done using a form on the DASH 2015 Website.  A DASH4CHARITY Social Media Campaign will also commence during this period.

The charity organisations or cause  nominated will be screened using some strict criteria, one of which is the functionality of the charity or charitable cause (that is, it is an active charity but is limited by funds). No financial commitment is required of the charities, as they are the beneficiary of the project.

The 5 Charities or Charitable Causes will be selected as follows:

  • Slot 1 – Online Voting  on DASH  Site (see below)
  • Slot 2 – Online Voting on Social Media (see below)
  • Slot 3 –
  • Slot 4 – Selection during the DASH Demo event (June 13, 2015)
  • Slot 5 – Connected Selected Charity

Online Voting for the 2 slots will commence on June 9th, 2015 and voting will close before the DASH Demo holding on June 13th in Lagos. Each charity will be contacted at this point to confirm their willingness to participate in DASH 2015.

The provisional list* of 2015 charities will be released during the DASH 2015 Demo in June 2015.  The final list of 2015 selected charities will only be released after all verifications and approvals have been gotten.

Connected DASH Organisers reserve the right to substitute Charities (or Charitable causes) during the process to guarantee the integrity of the project.

DASH 2015 Charity Nomination is available on this platform.

ONLINE VOTING INFORMATION

2 online voting options will go on concurrently during the voting phase of DASH 2015. They are

  • Slot 1 – Voting on DASH website &
  • Slot 2 – Voting on Social Media.

Each voting option has been assigned one of the 5 “selected charity” slots for DASH 2015.

Donate within 30 days after Voting

One of the overall Objective of DASH is Charity Fundraising. As part of DASH 2015, we are encouraging every individual that votes for a charity (on any platform) to donate at least 1,000 naira (or its equivalent) DIRECTLY to the cause they voted for within 30 days of voting.

This does NOT count towards the overall 10 million naira we intend to raise for the final 5 selected charities.

We want to ensure that all nominated charities get something as well as the chance to be a part of DASH 2015. These donations will not be tracked.

The account details of each charity (or charitable cause) will be provided on their individual DASH 2015 Nominated Charity Pages.

[Slot 1 of 5]  Voting on DASH Website:

The overall majority vote will win this selected charity slot.

To vote for your nominated charity on DASH website, visit http://breakpoint.connectedlagos.com/dash-2015-charity-online-voting/

Note: By voting for this charity, we would like you to commit to donating at least 1,000naira (or equivalent) to the cause within the next 30days and to also get your contacts to do the same.

Account Information  for each cause will be available on the Nominated Charity’s Information Page.
[Slot 2 of 5]  Voting on Social Media:

This year, you can also vote for your selected charity on Social Media. The following actions on Connected Official Platforms will be counted as a vote for each Nominated Charity:

On Twitter:
B. 1 vote: For Retweeting the Nominated Charity’s Official Nominee Image on Connected Twitter Handle

On Instagram:
C. 1 vote: For Liking the Nominated Charity’s Official Nominee Image on Connected Instagram.

The DASH 2015 Social Media Voting Scoreboard will be updated daily with the voting scores through out the duration of the social media voting process.

Important Notice:
It is only the social engagement performed on images uploaded on the DASH official handles (Posted by Connected) that will count as a vote. This is an important information.

Commitment to Donate to the voted Cause
By voting for any of the nominated Charity, we would like you to commit to donating at least 1,000naira (or equivalent) to the cause within the next 30days.

Final Selected Charity List will be released here when confirmation and verification is completed.

Because we can all do something…

Make a DASH for it!
